Mealworms are the most widely recognized feeder insect for feeding animals in captivity. Mealworms are great to feed to lizards, amphibians, birds and mammals.

Mealworms are slightly higher in protein and much higher in fat than crickets. As a result, they will promote more rapid growth than a diet of only crickets.
