Speckled Kingsnake (Lampropeltis holbrooki)
For a long time this species was not available in SA. Only in the past few years have we managed to re-introduce this species to the public after we had managed to re-established some captive bred lines from imported stock!
The Speckled Kingsnake is a striking and hardy species, easily recognised by its glossy black body covered in hundreds of vibrant yellow or cream speckles. Native to the southern United States, this beautiful snake is renowned for its calm temperament, adaptability, and ease of care, making it an excellent choice for both first-time keepers and experienced reptile enthusiasts.
Speckled Kingsnakes are active, curious snakes that are enjoyable to observe and are generally tolerant of regular handling once settled into their new home. They thrive in a well-maintained enclosure with suitable heating, hiding places, and fresh water, and readily feed on appropriately sized frozen-thawed rodents.
At Ultimate Exotics, all of our Speckled Kingsnakes are healthy, captive-bred specimens raised with the highest standards of care. Their bold patterning, manageable adult size, and excellent temperament make them a fantastic addition to any reptile collection.
